Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 1, 2026

The short version

Haptic Emulator is built to be private by design. Your games, saves, screenshots and settings stay on your device. There are no accounts and no ads, and we never see, upload or catalog your game library. We collect anonymous usage statistics — which systems and features get used — purely to improve the app. Everything that touches the network is described below.

1. Who we are

Haptic Emulator (the "App") is developed and operated by LarbSoft ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what information is and isn't handled when you use the App or our website. If anything here is unclear, email us at support@larbsoft.com.

2. What we don't collect

  • We do not require or offer user accounts, and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, or photos.
  • We do not upload, inspect, or catalog the game files (ROMs), save files, save states, or BIOS files you import. They remain on your device under your control.
  • We do not use advertising networks, ad identifiers (IDFA), cross-app tracking, or data brokers, and we do not sell or rent any data to anyone.

3. Data that stays on your device

Everything the App creates or imports — your game library, box art, save states, battery saves, screenshots, controller mappings and settings — is stored locally on your iPhone or iPad. It may also be included in your own device backups (iCloud or computer backups), which are governed by Apple's privacy policy, not ours. Deleting the App deletes its local data; anything you exported first (saves, backups) remains wherever you put it.

4. Network requests the App makes

The App is designed to work offline. It makes a small number of network requests, none of which include personal information:

  • Cover art lookup. When you import a game, the App may query an online artwork database to find its box art. The request contains non-personal game identifiers (such as the game's title or file checksum) so the artwork can be matched. Like any internet request, the server involved technically receives your IP address in order to respond; we do not use it to identify you and do not store it alongside any profile.
  • Purchases. Haptic Pro subscriptions and purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment card details, billing address, or Apple ID credentials. We receive only the anonymized transaction information needed to unlock what you bought (for example, a receipt confirming an active subscription).
  • Usage analytics. The App sends us anonymous usage events — for example, which emulated systems get played the most and which features get used — so we know what to improve next. These events are not tied to your name, email, or any account (we don't have those), and they never include your game files, file names, save data, or the contents of your library. We use them solely to improve the App — never for advertising or profiling — and we do not sell or share them with anyone.

5. Diagnostics and crash reports

If you have opted in to sharing analytics with app developers in your iOS settings, Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymized crash logs and usage statistics. These contain no personal information and no information about your game library, and we use them only to fix bugs and improve stability. You can turn this off at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.

6. If you contact us

If you email support@larbsoft.com, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it solely to respond to you and to fix the problem you reported. We don't add you to mailing lists, and we delete support correspondence once it is no longer needed.

7. Our website

This website is a static site. Fonts, images and every other asset are served from our own domain. It runs no advertising scripts, and there are no ad networks, trackers or social media pixels on any page.

We use our own analytics, which we built and host ourselves, to see whether anyone is finding the site. It records the page you viewed, how long you stayed, the site or search engine you came from, your screen size and your country. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, so there is no identifier that follows you between visits or across other websites. We run it on our own server — no third-party analytics company receives any of it, and we never sell or share it.

8. Children

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because there are no accounts, no chat, no ads and no data collection, there is no mechanism by which a child could submit personal information through the App.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Because we collect essentially none, in most cases there is nothing for us to produce or delete — your data is on your device, and you can delete it yourself at any time. If you believe we hold any personal data about you (for example, past support emails), contact support@larbsoft.com and we will honor your request.

10. Security

Your data's security on-device is provided by iOS itself — sandboxing, device encryption, and your passcode/Face ID. We recommend keeping iOS up to date and using device encryption (on by default on modern iPhones and iPads).

11. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date above. If a future update ever introduces new data collection, we will describe it here plainly before it takes effect.
